PSI

Public Services International (PSI) represents over 20 million public sector employees in more than 140 countries. There are more than 600 member associations in PSI. It consists of regional organizations: Europe (EPSU*), Asia, the Interamericas and the Pacific. The Finnish public sector organizations affiliated to STTK are represented in the PSI.

PSI works to exert influence on the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Bank (WB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the OECD and its trade union committee (TUAC). One of the crucial issues is how the employees and working conditions are affected by international agreements and decisions made by these organizations. PSI is also a strong advocate of securing high quality public services.

PSI’s highest decision-making organ is the five-yearly congress in which also Pardia’s representatives participate. The congress adopts policies, decides on campaigns and other measures to be carried out during the next five-year period.
