International affairs
Globalization proceeds, Europe unites and the European Union expands. These developments impose many challenges on the trade union movement and protection of members’ interests. Protection of interest, too, is becoming more international as more and more frequently guidelines and decisions related to national working life and labour markets have international roots.
Pardia’s international co-operation and lobbying to exert influence is an essential and permanent part of the union’work for protecting members’ interests. We work and exert influence by networking and working closely with Nordic and European public sector trade unions on both global and European labour market issues.
Our primary goal is to secure our position in the European system of protection of interests and to develop it to be more effective and reciprocal. An equally important goal is to operate at all levels where influence can be exerted in order to safeguard jour members’ position in relation to changes and reforms resulting from global and European decisions.
